Description
Step into live-music improvisation with a coach and accompanist guiding you in real time over video. You will set up a safe 2×2 m space, wear headphones, and position your camera at hip height for feedback. Sessions start with rhythm primers that teach you to hear the downbeat, backbeat, and subdivision. Call‑and‑response drills with the musician help you translate drum accents into accents in your body. You’ll learn two simple motif frameworks so you can repeat, vary, and contrast ideas without freezing. We include a grounding toolkit for stage nerves—breath counts and micro‑pauses between phrases. Downloadable backing tracks in multiple tempos let you practice between classes. You’ll submit two short practice clips for annotated notes on timing and phrasing. Office hours cover troubleshooting: latency, levels, and how to dance musically in small spaces. By the end, you’ll improvise confidently over a basic groove and keep your timing consistent.
